The everyday oil of the Gujarati kitchen
Groundnut oil is what this region cooked with long before refined blends arrived. Ours is pressed slowly in a wooden ghani, so the peanut aroma survives instead of being deodorised away, and the oil reaches you exactly as it left the press.
How we make it
- Seed: Groundnuts sourced directly from Gujarat farms, sorted and sun-dried.
- Press: Wooden kachi ghani, low temperature, no heat treatment.
- Filter: Settled and cloth-filtered. No bleaching, no deodorising, no chemicals.
- Fill: Bottled in small fresh batches.
How to use it
The most versatile oil in the range. Deep frying, shallow frying, farsan, puri and bhajiya, undhiyu, tadka, and anywhere you want a clean nutty base. It handles high heat comfortably.
What you will notice
- Warm peanut aroma when it hits the pan
- Light golden colour with natural sediment at the base
- May thicken slightly in cold weather — this is normal for unrefined oil and clears at room temperature
Storage
Cool, dark, tightly capped, dry spoon only. Best used within 6 months of opening.
Allergen note: Contains peanut.
Gramiko is farm-direct. Every batch is traceable back to the field it came from.
